At the age of twenty, Jon first traveled to India and Nepal. That journey sparked a lifelong passion for the Himalaya and the ancient spiritual traditions found throughout Asia. Accompanied by his wife, Martha, Jon has photographed the sacred monuments of the Hindu and Buddhist world for more than two decades. During their extensive expeditions they have explored the mystical landscapes of Myanmar, Nepal, Thailand, Indonesia, China, Bhutan, Cambodia, Ladakh, Laos and India. Whether trekking in the Kali Gandaki gorge, deepest on earth, or mingling among crowds at the cremation ghats of the Ganges, India’s most sacred river, it is Jon’s scholarship and sensitivity that has allowed him to create these intimate portraits of Asia’s vanishing cultures.
